WW1 Banners - Special Request

As in line with last year, we have been requested for youth members from Scouts, Guides and Cadets that will carry the WW1 banners towards the end of the Commemorative March, to also participate in the Commemorative Service which follows. These banners will be formed up on the steps of the Shrine, so as to display them to all assembled as part of the final Centenary of ANZAC celebrations. Parents and/or Leaders are asked to remain behind at the Shrine with their Youth members. They will complete their duties in approximately 40 minutes of the start of the commemorative service.

Combined Scouts/Guides formation

At the end of the March, all Scouts/Guides will march as a combined body. This is open to all members as a way of thanks from the RSL for your assistance on the day. Any member in a role on the day must however remain in that position until the combined body has passed your point.

Backpacks and bags

Any individual who enters the march route with a backpack will be removed by Victoria Police. All bags are to be monitored and held by a Parent or Leader AWAY from the event HQ, and are not to be left unattended. All Scout Marshals will have access to plastic containers to place your bags/jackets/etc into and will be locked away for the duration of the event.

Any unidentified bags will be handed over to Victoria Police immediately in the interests of public safety. Clothing items will be returned to Scouts Victoria HQ no later than Monday 29th of January for your collection.
